Friday we went into DC (via Metro), walked around the National Mall, stopped in front of the Capital, went to the Botanical Gardens, and spent a few hours in the Air & Space Museum.
Saturday we got up earlier and headed back into DC, met up with our great friend Andy, and made a visit to the Washington Monument, where we picked up our reserved tickets to take our tour to the top of the city! After that we visited the WWII Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, President Lincoln and the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial.

This is on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his I Have a Dream speech, during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
