Just some various pictures from what we've been up to lately...

We had our second snow of the season today. It began snowing around 10am this morning...it began slow and then it came down and came down hard. This afternoon we got some rain mixed in with the snow and the roads got really icy. Ray had to get out the snow shovel and scrape the ice off of the stairs and driveway. We are still getting used to the new weather we are experiencing.

My wonderful husband and roommates. We have four couches and they chose to sit on the same couch together...this is the typical evening picture!

Monday night Ray & I went to the Virginia Medical Center to hang out with Pastor David & Taryn, who gave birthday to a beautiful baby boy early Sunday morning. Ray got roped into holding Josiah David - born Sunday, January 13th at 8:25am (8 lbs. 1.2 oz, 21.5 inches)...he's a healthy baby...Josiah and Taryn got to go home on Tuesday and both are doing great.

Ray's Birthday Cake

So, I must say that I impressed myself with my recent cake baking skills. We had a bunch of friends over for New Year's Eve last night and because we hadn't really celebrated Ray's birthday, I decided I would bake him a birthday cake. Each year he gets a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing, but I normally make a sheet cake - nothing fancy...

Anyways, I decided yesterday that I would attempt to make a two layered cake with homemade peanut butter icing...I am sure there are much prettier and extravagant cakes, but I was quite impressed with how mine came out!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!

National Christmas Tree

A few weeks ago Ray and I went with our good friend, Andy, to see the National Christmas Tree...Here are some of the pictures...

Snow Day

We are a little late posting these...better late than never I suppose...

The evergreen tree in our front yard...

Our snow covered backyard.

After our fun day of snow Ray had to wake up and scrape the ice off the windshield of our truck...this is such a new experience for us.

Just an idea of how much snow we had.
